Who we are

SideAction Saloon is an iOS application developed by Emjay Software. This policy describes how we handle information collected through the SideAction Saloon app and the website at sideactionsaloon.com.

What we collect

In the app

• Anonymous device identifier — When you use live rounds, we create an anonymous session via Firebase. No name, email, or personal information is required. You are never asked to create an account.
• Round data — When you create a live round, scores, player names (as entered by you), game selections, and results are stored in our database to enable real-time sync across devices. This data is associated with a randomly generated round code, not with your identity.
• Location — If you grant permission, we use your location to show nearby golf courses. Location is used for search only and is never stored on our servers.
• Usage data — Firebase may collect anonymous usage data such as app version, device type, and operating system. This helps us identify crashes and improve the app. No personally identifiable information is included.

On the website

• Email address — If you sign up for launch notification, we collect your email address. We use it to send one email when the app is available. Nothing else.

What we don't collect

• We do not collect your name, phone number, or any other personal information
• We do not require account registration
• We do not collect payment information — all purchases are processed by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy
• We do not track you across other apps or websites
• We do not use advertising SDKs or sell data to advertisers

How we use your information

• To sync live rounds across devices in real time
• To display nearby golf courses when you search
• To diagnose crashes and improve app performance
• To notify you (one time) when the app launches, if you signed up on our website

Third-party services

SideAction Saloon uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

• Firebase (Google) — Used for anonymous authentication and real-time data sync in live rounds. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed through Firebase. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
• Apple — All in-app purchases are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
• Golf course data providers — Course search uses third-party course databases. No personal information is shared with these services.

Data retention

Live round data is retained in our database to allow players to reference completed rounds. You may request deletion of round data associated with your device at any time by contacting us at privacy@sideactionsaloon.com.

Website email signups are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

Children's privacy

SideAction Saloon is rated 17+ on the App Store and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@sideactionsaloon.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
